How I make phone call from my iPod Touch 2G to cell phone. Yes, you must use Skype or SIP Provider (to make fring-to-phone calls). Skype charges a couple cents per call, but most of the world has a Skype account anyway. BUT if you make Fring-to-Fring calls (e.g. iPod Touch to iPod Touch), it is completely free.
What you need:
1. A cell phone that receives Wifi. OR an iPod Touch 2G ('iTouch') OR iPhone.
2. The Fring application. (yes, it's free) http://www.fring.com/
3. Wireless Connection (Wifi) (like at a coffee shop)
4. Skype or SIP provider if you are calling Fring-to-phone. If you are calling Fring-to-Fring, it is free, as long as both mobiles or iPod Touches have the Fring app.
5. Apple Headphones (comes with your iPod Touch 2G)
